Mitsubishi India finally launched the much-awaited 10th Generation of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X in the Indian market. The high-performance sedan is popularly known as the Lancer Evo, or the Lancer Evo X. The car was initially designed for the Japanese market, but increasing demand in the “grey import” forced the carmaker to take it to the European and US markets.
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X is launched in India in a single petrol engine variant and features the most modern safety features. The Mitsubishi sedan is available in a range of attractive colours including Phantom Black, Cool Silver, Red Metallic, and White Pearl.
Powertrain & Performance
The long rally heritage of Mitsubishi is seen in the heart of the Lancer Evolution X. The powerful car is equipped by a new engine, the 4B11MIVEC Twin Scroll 2.0 litre (1997 cc) turbocharged, all-aluminium, inline 4-cylinder petrol engine. The powerful engine can pump out a maximum of 289.9 bhp of power and 366 NM @ 3500 high torque performance. The Mitsubishi Evo X takes just 6.3 seconds for 0-100kmph acceleration, and can reach a top speed of 241kmph.
The engine is coupled with a Twin Clutch SST (TC-SST) gearbox that is capable of superfast gear shift without a drop in the engine power. The TC-SST allows for superior power transmission efficiency without losing motive power and returns excellent fuel economy. You can also enjoy smooth auto shift by using the D position of the shift lever. Even while cruising at the D position, you can change to manual shift, if you wish to, by using the paddle shift.
Additionally, you have a TC-SST control mode, where you can enjoy three different drive modes with different transmission timing, speed and acceleration response: Normal mode for everyday driving, Sports mode for mountain driving, S-Sports mode for circuit driving.
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X comes equipped with a Super All Wheel Control system (SAWC), which is a new vehicle motion integrated control system based on 4 wheel drive force and brake force. For added efficiency, drivers have a choice of three control modes: Tarmac for paved surfaces, Gravel for wet & dirt roads and Snow.
The front suspension in the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X uses McPherson strut mechanism and multilink rear suspension with knuckle mounting with of non-linear springs and dampers as well as additional pillow ball mounts for better road holding.
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X comes equipped with Brembo 2-pc type 18-inch front and 17-inch rear ventilated disc brakes, which enhance braking force and reduce resistance.
