SAAB 9-7X

First thought about the 9-7X: Well, so much for Saab. It's become just another beggar on General Motors' bread line.

Second thought: Don't be a Saab snob.

Since GM bought Saab a few years ago, purists have been bemoaning what they see as the inevitable spiritual suffocation of the spunky little Swedish firm. This is just goopy nostalgia. Sure, there was a time when jellybean-shaped Saabs looked like nothing else, won major rallies, and were the favorites of the sandals-and-granola set. But that was in the misty past. Saab joined the mainstream more than 20 years ago--Giorgetto Giugiaro's Italdesign inked most of the Saab 9000, for instance--and to survive in today's merciless marketplace, Saab's choice was to dip into GM's deep pockets or simply disappear. It's just business, as they said in The Godfather.

SAAB PHOENIX

Elegant, innovative and highly effective: the Saab Concept Car PhoeniX presents the design features and technologies that will shape the next generation of Saab cars.

Based on a new architecture that will enable the next Saab 9-3, Saab introduced 'aeromotional' Phoenix Design: A visual evocation of the principles of aerodynamic design and a passion for innovation that inspired the creators of the first car Saab Ursaab iconic.

PhoeniX Saab concept encompasses forms of tears, "liquid metal", and a dash of inspiration spectacular glass conservatory overlooking the fresh expression "wrap" signature Saab design themes and translucent ice blocks.
Cleaning, as muscle is a trail exceptionally low coefficient of only 0.25 and is also exploring options for managing the flow of air through the use of the feature side-mounted "winglets".

Butterfly doors open easily to give 2 +2 cabin that combines the simplicity of the technique. This is a minimalist, "stripped" feeling, including a new expression of Saab's driver focused on the layout and the debut of the show IQon innovative Saab and communication system. In true Saab tradition also has a surprisingly different cargo deck.

SAAB 9-4X

With a jet-style opening canopy, a stunning supercar shape and a space-age cabin, the Saab's all-new coupe, the Aero X, was the star of this month's Geneva Motor Show - as one Italian maker will grudgingly agree. The Aero X stole the limelight even from Ferrari's new 599GTB on the adjacent stand.

While a smaller production version won't arrive in dealers for a few years, the styling and interior will inspire a whole new range of Saabs. So, to see what buyers can expect, Auto Express took a test drive in Sweden.

Viewed on a show stand, there's no doubting the concept is a looker, but catch sight of the Aero X at speed and it takes your breath away. As long as an Aston Martin DB9, and as modern as yet-to-be-revealed supercars such as Audi's R8, it's distinguished by a vast bonnet and wraparound windscreen.

SAAB 9-5

The all-new 2011 Saab 9-5 is the cure for traditional German luxury sedans. It’s also a sign of the times we live in, choice, choice and more choice.

Buying a car can sometimes feel like buying cereal, you walk into a supermarket and there are hundreds of choices, brands you’ve never heard of offering flavours you didn’t think possible.

There are currently more than 40 different car brands being sold in Australia and they come from all over the world. Thankfully though, some have a heritage and rich history long enough to fill volumes of books. Saab is one such brand.

The all-new Saab 9-5 comes 67 years after the Swedish Airplane Limited company decided to begin building passenger cars. In that time the company created some iconic models that have resulted in the brand’s cult following. Many Saab fans would argue that the decade under General Motors saw the Saab brand lose its appeal and character. Alas, it’s 2011, Saab is back in European hands and more motivated than ever to regain its character and soul.

SAAB 9-3

The Saab 9-3 is available as a convertible, SportCombi (or wagon), sedan and a more-rugged wagon called the 9-3x. All models come with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

The Saab 9-3 gets a unique rear suspension called ReAxs, which features passive rear steering to quell understeer inherent to front-wheel-drive cars. Visually, the Saab 9-3 shares nothing with its cousins and its powertrain options are all turbocharged variants of GM motors that have been uniquely designed by Saab engineers.
